Mohamed Salah deletes Liverpool mention from Instagram & X
The Egyptian forward is enduring a poor form this season.
It seems that Mohamed Salah has removed all mentions of Liverpool from his Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) bios. This comes right after Liverpool’s 5–1 Champions League win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday — a match where Salah wasn’t included in the starting lineup.
The Egyptian forward hasn’t been at his usual best this season and has faced growing criticism for his recent performances, with some fans even suggesting he should be benched to “recharge his batteries.”
This all happened around the time Liverpool went through a rough patch, losing four games in a row — the latest defeat coming against their fierce rivals, Manchester United. Under Arne Slot, the team bounced back with the big win over Frankfurt, notably achieved without Salah starting.
He did come off the bench in the 74th minute, replacing Hugo Ekitike, but couldn’t find the back of the net before the final whistle.

Salah removes ‘Liverpool’ mention from his Instagram and X’s bio
In addition, Salah’s recent social media changes suggest he’s unhappy with the ongoing discussion about his form this season.
While the 33-year-old hasn’t deleted all of his Liverpool-related posts, the adjustments to his bio hint at a growing frustration or possible uncertainty about his current situation.
Statistically, it’s been a quieter start for him. Salah has recorded just three goals and three assists in 12 appearances so far — a noticeable drop compared to his usual standards. For context, he’s scored at least 23 goals in each of his eight full seasons at Anfield.
Still, many Liverpool fans continue to stand behind him, acknowledging everything he’s done for the club, even as some call for him to step up his performances.
